PathWords from Think Fun

If you enjoy word searches and puzzles that test your brain you will love PathWords from Think Fun. PathWords helps your strengthen your vocabulary and visual perception skills with an amalgamation of polyominoes and word searches. PathWords comes with a wire-bound book that contains 80 puzzles on glossy, heavy pages and eight hard plastic translucent colored Tetris-like tiles. Each puzzle is a different shape and has only one solution. On each page it tells you the pieces that you need to successfully complete the puzzle. You use the tiles that come with the game to cover the letters in the words that you find. When you are finished there are no empty spaces and all of the words are covered. The challenges range from beginner to expert, so there is a puzzle for everyone. The game is for ages 12 and up.

Pathwords was a fun challenge for me the minute i opened it. Some of the puzzles have words that aren't part of the solution, making them even more of a challenge. I also like that you use the tiles to solve them, so when someone else wants to try or if i ever pass the game on to someone, the book isn't all marked, it's like brand new and they can solve the puzzles all over again. This game would make a great gift for the word search or brain teaser enthusiast. You can order it from Think Fun, and while you're there check out all the other great games they have.

November Nerd Block Jr. Box

Have you heard of Nerd Block? It's a monthly subscription box that delivers nerdy awesome to your door, like clockwork. Recently they branched out and added a Nerd Block Jr for boys and girls. Landon and I were lucky enough to get the chance to review their November subscription box. Each month the box contains at least 4 cool comic book/cartoon/superhero/toy related items your kids will love, tailored to their gender. The price of Nerd Block Jr is $13.99 month. If you have any questions, they have a great FAQ section on their website. Now then, onto the goodies!

The first awesome toy we got in our box was a CBK micro figure. My son is obsessed with Lego and everything like it, so he loved this! The figure he got was the little zombie. It's actually a cute little figure, with his zombie brain showing and everything.

The second cool item from out box was an  Iron Man 3 Ghost Armor Iron Man mini action figure. My son loves Iron Man, especially the specialty suits.

The next awesome item to come out of the box was a Nerd Block Jr. slap watch. Landon loved the little Nerd Block Jr. logo on the face, i liked getting to share with him the fun that is slap bracelets. (Or in this case a slap watch.) I didn't even know they still made these.

The fourth cool item in the box was puzzle erasers. I think i was more excited by these than Landon was, simply because they reminded me of wooden puzzles i had when i was younger. He loved the shape and color of them.

And last, but certainly not least, is a Nerd Block Jr edition Penguins of Madagasscar comic book for the new movie. We received #1 of 4. My son loves comics, and we have been waiting to see the new Penguins movie, so this was a great item to receive.

Landon and his Iron Man and zombie figures

Landon rockin his cool NerdBlockJr slap watch

So, our first expierence with Nerd Block Jr was a great one. The box is so much fun for kids to tear into, and well worth the cost. It would be a great gift for any special boy or girl in your life. They also have 3 versions for adults, classic, arcade (for video game lovers), and a horror Nerd Block. So really, they have the gift you need for several people on your list, with great prices. You can check out all the boxes they offer, and subscribe on their website. You can also watch our unboxing video and Landon's commentary on youtube.

I received this box free in exchange for my honest review.

"The Pluckers" tweezer set by Bella and Bear

Tweezers are a product you probably don't think about very much, until you need them. Then you want to make sure you have the right ones for the job, and the highest quality possible. Which is where the Bella & Bear “Pluckers" Professional Tweezer Set comes in. The set comes with 3 pairs of tweezers to meet all your needs. Flat or Straight Tweezers, great for general hair removal on your face or around your bikini line. Pointed Tweezers, excellent for precision use as ingrown hairs or on single hairs, splinters and so on. And lastly, Slant Tweezers, which are versatile and can be used for precision uses such as splinter removal or plucking ingrown hairs and are great for hair removal and shaping.

Like all of their products Bella & Bears “Pluckers” set is made of high quality materials, and arrives at your door in a beautiful little box. The tweezers can travel with you anywhere thanks to a decorative travel case, which keeps them clean and from getting lost in your luggage. These tweezers are guaranteed not to bend or malign, and if you are not satisfied for any reason, they come with a 100% money back guarantee.

I love the cute case on these, but more importantly, the tweezers work well. They grip the hair tightly, no slipping, for a nice clean pluck every time. The 3 pack means you will always have the right tool for the right job, which is awesome. These are a beauty queen dream, lol. The travel case means i can toss them in my purse, overnight bag, or makeup bag and always be prepared! I love my set, and I know you will too. They would also make a great gift and Christmas is just around the corner! You can order them on amazon, and like all Bella and Bear products the price is almost a steal!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using in exchange for my honest review. I never recommend products i don't like or use personally.

Crayola Doodle Magic Lap Desk

Does anyone else have lots of little artists in their house and families? I do, so we are very familiar with the Crayola brand around here. When i saw the Crayola Doodle Magic Lap Desk i knew it was the perfect gift for my nephew. He loves to color and draw, and they do a lot of traveling, so things to keep him occupied in the car are always a plus.

Watch colors magically swipe away with Doodle Magic, the amazing marker and drawing surface system. The contoured shape of the Crayola lap desk kit fits neatly on a small lap. It can be used while you're at home or while you're on the go for worry-free, colorful creativity anywhere, any time. Kids can pick their colored markers and doodle, swipe with the eraser and wipe with the cloth to clean it up and then color again. Users can draw as much as they want on the lap desk and never worry about running out of paper. The Crayola Magic Marker kit includes the lap desk, four Doodle Magic markers, one color eraser and one wipe cloth. For ages 3 and up.

The lap desk has 4 holes in the top to hold the markers while it's being used, and slots on the bottom to store the markers and eraser for storage. The whole thing is so easy to use, simply color on the desk surface, then use the eraser to wipe it away and start over again. Hours of fun from such a simple toy. That's why Crayola is number one in our house for art supplies and crafts. I ordered my Crayola Doodle Magic Lap Desk from walmart but you can find it at any mass retailer that carries Crayola products. It makes a great gift for any little artist you know.

This post is in no way affiliated with Crayola or Wal-mart.

Influenster: What it is and why I love it!

What is Influenster?
Influenster is a community of trendsetters, social media hotshots, and educated consumers who live to give opinions of products and experiences. Influensters meet here to learn about new products from our favorite brands as well as review the products they already use in their day-to-day lives! Influensters share their opinions far and wide when they try and find a product they love. They give brands feedback on how to make their products better.

What is a voxbox?
VoxBoxes are packages filled with complimentary products from your favorite (or soon-to-be-favorite) brands. Not all Voxboxes are created equal: some campaigns feature an assortment of products while others will spotlight one awesome brand. But make no mistake: all VoxBoxes are created equally awesome.
Here's how it works: Every month, thousands of Influensters receive FREE themed product shipments based on information disclosed by answering questions, their measured Social Impact across all connected networks, demographics, unlocked Badge activity, and, well, good old fashioned luck. Did you forget to connect your social media accounts or share any information with us? Then no wonder we haven't been able to match you with a box yet -- we're practically strangers!
Members with a strong social presence and high activity -- within the specific Badge or demographic we are targeting at the time -- tend to be prioritized, which is all the more reason to maintain activity on Influenster and boost your Social Impact. This ensures members receive products that match their interests.

When you finish all the social media tasks assciated with your voxbox you can win even more cool goodies and prizes! Influenster is the gift that keeps on giving!

Why do I love being an Influenster?
That part is easy! I have gotten to try so many great products, and give feedback to the brands to let them know what works and what dosen't. That is really just so cool to me. I have also gotten to try a few products that were new to the market. Last year i got to try the new 2-in-1 Ivory right when it came out, and this month i have been able to use the new Clairol Hair Food Mask, and at the time that I got mine, i had not seen it on shelves yet! That kind of makes you feel like an beauty product A lister, lol!

I also have gotten to try products from brands i already love that are now some of my favorites. Like My new Rimmel London transparent Moisture renew Lip Liner. I would never have bought it on my own, but now that i have it i love it. The same goes for my  EcoTools Pure Complexion Sponge. I wouldn't have purchased it if i hadn't first gotten it from Influenster, and now it's one of my favorite face products.

You can look up products and read reviews on the Influenster site, visit the Hub and conncect with other influensters, ask questions and get awsners, and get perks like coupon codes just for being a member.

What is my all time favorite VoxBox product?
That is tough one. I would have to say it was Breyers Gelato Indulgences. The flavor i got was Tiramsu. I don't usually like Tiramisu but it was the only flavor they had in stock. The tiramsu is mascarpone gelato, espresso sauce, ladyfinger cookie pieces and gourmet cocoa. The espresso wasn't overpowering, which is how i like my tiramsu. It really was just delicious. Just talking about it is making me want some, LOL.

How can You become an Influenster?
That is the best question of all! You simply leave me a comment with your email, and i will make sure you get an invite ASAP! There are enough goodies and voxbox's for us all!

This post was written with information taken from, the opinions about the site are 100% mine.

Bella and Bear "Brush On You" Set

Bella and Bear are makers of some of the cutest, and highest quality beauty products I have seen, and they're “Brush on you” is a perfect example of this. The first thing you notice about the set is that it's beautiful. The box, and the set itself is blue, with blue and pink flowers. Then when you get to use the brush or comb you see how well they work.

The “Brush on you” Detangling brush has firm, cone shaped bristles without and end bead that help glide through tangles, but also stimulates your scalp at the same time. The curved design of the brush fits the shape of your hand naturally, making it easy to use for both adults and children. The brush helps limit hair loss by not pulling the hair, but gliding through it. This is especially nice for those, like me, who are already hard on our hair. The brush works great on both wet and dry hair, and can be used in addition to the detangling comb on wet hair for the best results, and less struggling with kids. Plus, if you aren't 100% happy with the set, Bella and Bear with refund your money, no questions asked.

My favorite things about this set are, number one, the look. Beauty products that are aesthetically pleasing are a weakness with me.  Number two, the brush really does detangle without pulling, which is huge for me. I color treat and heat style my hair, so it gets dry and tangled easily. My set is now property of my niece, but it's okay because I can order another set on amazon, and for a great price. This set would make a great Christmas or birthday gift for any of the females in your life!

Then life got hectic...

I had big plans this week to blog everyday, plus work on homework and both my papers, but then life got hectic. Blogging and product reviewing is so much fun, and i have a huge passion for it. But it has to come second to school and family, and this week, with two 10+ page papers to write school has been the center of everything, lol. After tomorrow, when we celebrate thanksgiving and my midge goes off to his dad's for the week of Thanksgiving break, i will be back in full force, catching up on posts, posting a few recipes and showing off some pictures from Thanksgiving, plus another more in depth life update by the end of the month. I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed, happy Thanksgiving holiday!

Polargel Cool Pillow Mat

I am weird when I sleep. On all but the coldest nights of the year, I like my face to be cold. I also find when I have a bad headache or migraine, which I get chronically, the cold on my head and neck helps. Which is why the PolarGel pillow is pretty great. It's very large, measuring 12x22 inches. You can place in inside or on top of your pillowcase. The pillow molds itself to the contours of your head and neck, and the cool temperature helps regulate your body temperature and promote a restful night sleep. For hot nights, you can even place the PolarGel pillow in the fridge for an hour before use for an even cooler feeling. The pillow is made for non-toxic material, and the edge seams are double stitched for durability and to prevent fraying. Plus, the pillow is easy to clean. Simply wipe with a damp cloth.

This pillow is a life saver for me. I don't need to run a fan to get the cool feeling I like at night, which will make my power bill lower. (Yay!) But really the best part is how good the cold feels on my neck during a migraine. It's just amazing. The pillow folds into thirds. 7X12 inches, for portability and storage, but this also makes it the right size for the back of my neck and base of my skull. I would think it would also feel amazing for someone with a fever. The uses really seem endless once you think about it. Plus, it comes with a lifetime guarantee. If for any reason, you're not completely satisfied with your PolarGel, they will refund your purchase, no questions asked. You can order your own PolarGel pillow on amazon. I hope you love yours as much as I love mine!

Silicone Baking Mat by BakeItFun

I have always wanted a silicone baking mat, but have never actually bought one. There are so many to choose from, and some are expensive, and then what if it has BPA and causes cancer? So many things to think about. Then I got the chance to try the Silicone Baking Mat With Ruler by BakeItFun. This mat is awesome and so easy to use. It has a built in ruler for easy measuring, and circle guidelines for cookies. It's designed to perfectly fit a 13x18 inch cookie sheet. It's made of the highest quality non-stick, food grade silicone. FDA and LFGB approved. It's 100% BPA free. It's Oven, Dishwasher and Microwave safe. The non-stick surface means no more sprays, grease or shortening, and no need for parchment paper or aluminum foil. This can take the heat, up to 450F, and can be go in the freezer, down to -40F.

This mat is so easy to use. The circle guidelines for cookies allow kids to help with less stress, and less mess, since all you have to do to wash it is rinse with warm water and air dry or put it in the dishwasher, the roll it up and store it. It can be used up to 2000 times, making less trash, and making it good for the environment. My son and I had so much fun using it. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get one. I recommend you head on over to amazon and pick up your own BakeItFun mat! You can also check out my son and i using the BakeItFun mat ourselves on youtube.

PersJewel, A Personalized Jewelry Company

I recently got the chance to work with PersJewel, a personalized jewelry company. They make high quality personalized jewelry, and have a great selection. I spent at least a half an hour on their website just trying to choose what to review!

Two examples of the great necklaces they offer

I finally chose the Personalized Baby Feet necklace. It has 2 baby feet, one foot has your child's name, the other has your child's birth-date. At the top is your child's birthstone. The feet come in silver. It really is a beautiful necklace and a perfect gift for any mom. My son loves when I wear it and loves to point it out to other people and have me show it to them.
My necklace, with the September birthstone

All the jewelry the PersJewel has to offer is well priced, considering the level of personalization and the high quality pieces they have to offer. They would make great gifts, especially with Christmas being just around the corner. If you love custom jewelry or know someone who does, you really should spend some time browsing their website.

Orthopedic CushionCare Memory Foam Seat Cushion

I am currently taking two online classes through the Massachusetts Institute on Technology. These both involve lectures, totaling  at least six and a half hours of me sitting and taking notes, plus homework. After a while that becomes terribly uncomfortable. Thankfully, now I have the CushionCare Memory Foam Seat Cushion! This little seat cushion is amazing. It's like a little cloud for your bottom.

It's made of 100% high grade memory foam that conforms and molds itself to your shape. It does not flatten even with extensive use. It was designed to be used by people who sit for long periods of time. Trust me on that, it's true. It can be used indoors, out doors, in the office, on long flights, in wheelchairs, even in the car.

CushionCare is fitted with Coccyx Visco Elastic Foam, which is a medical grade orthopedic mesh that allows the cushion to yield appropriately without losing its excellent support on the body. The cushion is designed so that the blood flow to and from the thighs and legs is not constricted. A feature that I really like is that the cover is machine washable. It simply zips off and then back on again. The CushionCare comes with a money back, no questions asked lifetime warranty. This cushion really is ideal for anyone who sits for long periods of time, be it an office worker or someone who drives for a living. This would also make a great gift with the holidays being just around the corner. So head on over to amazon and check it out for yourself!

Liquid Chalkers by Paper&Twine

I had never used liquid chalk markers before so I was excited to get to try out Liquid Chalkers from Paper & Twine. Paper & Twine's platinum collection liquid chalkers are artist quality, use hyper pigmented ink and provide bright, beautiful colors with marker tips that don't dry out or crack. Liquid Chalkers were created by Louise Fox, a mother of three, with the help of her kids, skyrocket their family's creativity. Kids always come first and these Chalkers contain completely non-toxic ink meeting stringent EN71-3, ASTM 4963 and ASTM D4236 standards.

One thing that makes liquid chalk markers much better than chalk is they are dust free! Dust free means less of a mess to clean up. Liquid Chalkers can be used on any non-porous surface. Louise says her favorites are mirrors, glass, desks and metal. But remerber, it is important to note that anytime you use any brand of liquid chalk ink on a new surface, always ALWAYS test it first on a small inconspicuous section.

The first thing I did was try out the markers on a plain piece of white printer paper. The markers have to be shaken first before they can be used, but it doesn't say how long they must be shaken for. It takes a good 3-5 minutes per maker. So be prepared for sore shoulders before they are ready to be used. Once they are shaken, the colors are vibrant, and markers go on the paper smoothly. The only color I didn't try myself is the white. When I was done with them I gave them to my niece for her chalkboard dresser, and she loved them. She said they were great and she drew a very pretty flower and sun that her mom sent me a picture of. You can buy these for a great price on amazon, and they would make a great gift for yourself or any little artists in your life. Plus, they come with a 1 year money back guarantee. Even if the markers are empty at the end of the year, if you decide you don't like them, you get a full refund of the marker price and your shipping price. So, go buy a pack!

Black friday, stress and how to conquer it

The very mention of black friday makes some people shudder. There is good reason. People get trampled, pushed down, punched, wait in lines in hours in the cold, all so they can get the best stuff for the lowest prices. I once had a much older woman than me hit me with a shopping art over a heavy winter jacket. It gets crazy out there. So how can we conquer the stress and still save? Good question!

My first piece of advice to conquer the madness is to shop the pre-sales. Beginning around the first of November stores start having great sales. Amazon has their lightening deals of the day, Walmart has their early bird online specials, Target's cartwheel app has 50% toys every day from 11/1-12/24, which you can read more about in my previous post. Last year walmart also did a pre black friday price match the 3 day before black friday. Those 3 days the price matched the black friday ads for Target and best buy. You didn't even need the ad, the price match items were tagged in store. I was able to get Skylanders Swap Force for my son for $37.50 and didn't have to go to Target thanksgiving night to get it! No word yet if they will do it this year, but fingers crossed. Shopping these pre-sales can help save money, and they keep you from having to brave the crowds, and from losing sleep, to get the good deals.

Another nice alternative to black friday is cyber monday. Cyber is the black friday of online shopping. For me, it's even better because it can be done in my pj's, with my cup of coffee in my hand. No lines, no crowds, no old ladies with shopping carts. The items I want are still on sale, and the come right to my door. Sometimes I can even save shipping costs and have them shipped to my local store.

In the end, when it comes to black friday sales I ask myself one important question. Is the item I want worth saving a few bucks for to go out on Thanksgiving or early friday morning to get? Will it really be that horrible to pay a few dollars more? If the answer is no, I stay home.

For more black friday tips, and some sneak peak at the leaked ads, check out
